Suzanne Voas

ASSOCIATE ATTORNEY

Suzanne became an attorney at Lanzone Morgan, LLP in 2021.  She has been with Lanzone Morgan, LLP since 2019 when she started as a law clerk and developed her passion for advocating for the rights and dignity of vulnerable elders throughout California.

She earned her J.D. from Chapman University’s Dale E. Fowler School of Law, where she was awarded a merit scholarship for tuition and graduated in the top 20% of her class with a degree emphasis in Advocacy and Dispute Resolution.  In law school, Suzanne served her peers for three years on the Student Bar Association, holding Executive Board positions for two years.  She was selected for a coveted academic fellowship with a law professor for two consecutive years, and is a four-time recipient of the CALI Award for Excellence for receiving the highest grade in a law course

Suzanne successfully argued in the California Court of Appeal, winning a precedent-setting ruling in Logan v. Country Oaks Partners, LLC (2022) 82 Cal.App.5th 365, which was later affirmed by the California Supreme Court.  She was part of the team that secured the landmark California Supreme Court ruling in Harrod v. Country Oaks Partners, LLC (2024) 15 Cal.5th 939, affirming Logan and delimiting a health care agent’s authority under to enter into an optional arbitration agreement with a nursing home.  Since 2023, Suzanne has led recruitment and development of training programs for legal interns at Lanzone Morgan, LLP.

Suzanne is an active member of the American Association for Justice Nursing Home Litigation Group and the California Advocates for Nursing Home Reform.  She is motivated by knowing that the Lanzone Morgan, LLP team is shaping elder abuse and neglect law in California and making a difference in their clients’ lives.  She is passionate about standing up to corporate greed and protecting those who fall victim to the broken healthcare system.  Above all, Suzanne cherishes the opportunity to serve her clients, learn their stories, and fight for the dignity and respect they deserve.

Outside of work, Suzanne enjoys camping, skiing, and spending time in nature with her family and dogs, Leo and Ziggy.
