We see broken hip injuries fairly often. What often happens is that they just don’t have enough caregivers. They aren’t actually caring for the residents. They aren’t actually watching them. They aren’t actually making sure that they’re safe. So, people will fall and they’ll break their hips. Now, normally what’s supposed to happen medically is they’re supposed to immediately then undergo surgery to repair the broken hip or the broken femur, and they’re supposed to be walking and moving around within about a day or so. The problem is a lot of people have dementia, they have just weakness issues because of their age, and sometimes they can’t do that. And that kills. If you’re not moving around after a hip injury, if you’re not getting back that mobility, often within six months the person will pass away. And that leads to our wrongful death cases. So, we see a lot of hip injuries and we see a lot of deaths because of it. If you feel that you’ve had a loved one who passed away due to a hip injury at a skilled nursing facility, you should contact Lanzone Morgan and we’ll be able to find some justice for you.
