If your loved one is suffering from unexpected weight loss or gain in a nursing home, you should bring this to the attention of the caregivers at the nursing home. Additionally, you should contact their primary care physician to discuss what the options are to prevent further weight loss or gain. If this problem continues to persist, you should take your loved one to a hospital where they can be evaluated for the cause of this weight loss or gain. So, thinking about a case where victim suffered a severe weight loss. We had a case about a year ago where our client was admitted to a nursing home cuz she was in her late 90s and couldn’t really live on her own anymore. Within weeks, she had lost roughly 15 lbs and she became severely dehydrated. During this period, she became completely lethargic, almost unable to speak because she was so lethargic. Ultimately, she passed away just weeks after leaving the nursing home. Once we got into this case, we learned that this facility had not been providing her barely any liquid or any food. And this failure led to her severe decline in condition, which ultimately led to her passing. Ultimately, we were able to achieve justice for that client.
