Here at Lanzone Morgan, all of the attorneys and all of the staff here really do care about our clients. And with this, we really want to find ways to get the best outcome for our clients. And to do so, that often involves coming up with creative solutions, to resolve our clients’ cases. Additionally, when we file our cases, we always leave wholeheartedly in our clients’ claims. Naturally, the nursing homes’ attorneys always push back on those claims. However, we’re not afraid of a foot. We only get more motivated to pursue the claims with more vigor and more gusto. Before law school and during law school, I admittedly knew very little about the area of elder abuse law. When I first showed up here, I was merely struck by the awful treatment of residents at nursing homes, and then I quickly realized the importance of practicing in this area.

The human aspect of the case is really the most important part. I can still remember the scene of the deposition. Our client was talking about the loss of her mother, and when she was telling the story of taking her mother off-life support at the hospital, I looked over and saw the court reporter in tears. Our client was in tears, and I remember on the drive home after that. It really kinda hit me. Our clients aren’t just patients, they’re not just client files. I look at my own parents, and I think about my grandparents, and, It really makes me want to hold the nursing homes accountable for their actions so that they can improve the care and treatment that they provide to residents in the future so that less and less families have to encounter those situations.

The only way to do that is to litigate these cases and call them out for their terrible treatment of residents. It’s hard to say that any of the cases are necessarily common. We approach every case with an individualized approach because we recognize it. Every one of our clients has a unique situation and different reasons for coming in the door. However, some of the common injuries we see include pressure sores and bed sores, falls and fractures, contractures, dehydration, malnutrition, and even some choking cases. If you sense that anything is wrong with the care that your loved ones are receiving at a nursing home, please don’t hesitate to contact our office so that we can fight for you. I’d love the opportunity to bring justice on behalf of you and your family and to serve as a conduit so that you can fight back against the injustice going on against your elders.
