When somebody calls our office, there’s a traumatic event that’s happened that usually involves a loved one. And so the first thing we try to explore with the caller is to figure out if the resident is currently safe. We need to remove the resident from the situation that they’re in so that they’re not getting neglected or harmed in any way. It’s not lost on us how traumatic an event this is for the person that’s calling us. A lot of times they feel as though, you know, they have a lot of anxiety. Sometimes they have a little guilt because they were the ones that were trying to make the best decision for their loved one and put them in harm’s way. What I tried to tell everybody that calls us is we understand all of the emotion involved in this. And what I ask each person to do is take all of that emotion and all that angst and anxiety. Take that bag and just leave it with Lanzone Morgan and let us try to hold the wrong doors accountable.
