When nursing home residents are not being provided with proper personal hygiene care, it can lead to a whole host of other issues and it can lead to abuse and neglect of that person. Some of the common things we see when a person is not being provided with adequate personal hygiene is infections to their skin, skin breakdown and bed sores developing, especially if somebody uses briefs or diapers and they’re not being attended to or changed often enough. It can lead to quick skin breakdown and we’ve also seen cases where the lack of hygiene really escalates further than you’d ever expect to the point where the resident has bugs in their room and cockroaches. Even scabies infestations. And so, it is really important that elders are provided with proper hygiene and routine hygiene in order to not only keep them safe from physical injuries, but to protect their dignity. And if you or a loved one are experiencing lack of hygiene in your care facility, please reach out to Lanzone Morgan. We have experience with these types of cases involving lack of hygiene and we’re prepared to help you look into your case.
