One really memorable case that I’ve been a part of here at Lanszone Morgan involving a fall at a nursing home had to do with our client Mrs. Harden who went to a nursing home and on her first night there she suffered a fall out of her wheelchair and for a week after that she remained at the nursing home and she was in pain and her condition was declining. Eventually, she was sent to the hospital and it turned out that she had a fractured hip. And this case and fall cases in nursing homes in general presented some challenges, especially when it’s not really clear when or how an injury may have occurred. And so, in this case, the nursing home denied that the fracture occurred on their watch essentially. But using the tools and resources available to us, we were able to enlist the help of an expert um an orthopedic surgeon to review the uh x-rays and the medical records, the timeline, and to create a clear picture of what happened and when. And using those tools, we were able to get compensation for Mrs. Harden’s family ultimately and hold the facility accountable for this fallen fracture.
