You Deserve Answers After Abuse or Neglect in a Lancaster Nursing Home
Placing your loved one in a nursing home’s care requires an immense amount of trust. When something goes wrong, you expect the facility to be transparent about what happened. Instead, you may find yourself struggling to get clear answers. The facility may rush your loved one to the hospital with severe injuries and then ignore your calls or limit visitation to try to keep you in the dark.
This situation can be incredibly frustrating. You may be juggling concern for your loved one’s well-being while trying to make sense of the care failures that caused them harm. You deserve clear answers and accountability during one of the most difficult times of your life, and that’s exactly what our firm has to offer. We listen, we communicate, and we care from the moment you reach out to us.
What Compensation Is Available in a Nursing Home Abuse Claim?
If a Lancaster nursing home’s negligence caused your loved one harm, we can help you seek compensation for the full range of losses resulting from the abuse. Our comprehensive approach to pursuing compensation has allowed our team to secure many meaningful nursing home abuse settlements and verdicts. Our successful case results include a $2.34 million jury verdict in Los Angeles County for an elderly nursing home resident who sustained injuries in multiple falls at a skilled nursing facility.
Personal Injury Damages
Compensation may include medical expenses and other financial losses related to your loved one’s nursing home abuse injuries, including the cost of arranging safer care. Your loved one may also recover damages for the physical pain and emotional distress they’ve suffered because of the mistreatment.
Wrongful Death Damages
Many nursing home abuse cases result in a vulnerable adult’s death. If this has happened to your family, we may help you pursue wrongful death damages, such as funeral expenses and loss of companionship.
Punitive Damages
A court may award punitive damages if it finds that there is clear and convincing evidence of malicious, oppressive, or fraudulent conduct. These damages are intended to punish the defendant and deter future misconduct. Punitive damages can significantly increase your total award.
Signs Your Loved One May Have Been Injured in a Lancaster Nursing Home
Because vulnerable residents often cannot speak up for themselves, mistreatment often goes unreported for long periods of time. The signs of nursing home abuse and neglect can be subtle, so it’s important to pay attention to changes in your loved one’s health or behavior. If you notice any of the following, we encourage you to contact our Lancaster nursing home abuse lawyers for legal advice immediately:
- Unexplained injuries, such as broken bones or bruises

Recent Care Deficiencies Reported at Lancaster Nursing Homes
Public inspection findings from local nursing homes reveal how preventable care failures can lead to serious harm. If any of these situations sound familiar, our elder abuse attorneys in Lancaster can help you take action.
Resident Death After Neglect at Mirage Post Acute
A March 2025 inspection of Mirage Post Acute found that the facility failed to protect a resident from neglect. Staff documented dangerously abnormal vital signs, including low blood pressure and high heart rate. Despite these warning signs, staff did not provide any meaningful interventions and failed to call emergency services for nearly seven hours.
When paramedics finally arrived, the resident was in severe respiratory distress. They had critically low blood pressure, a respiratory rate of four breaths per minute, and oxygen saturation of 74%. The resident was hospitalized and died the next day, which may have been prevented with timely medical attention.
Preventable Fall at Antelope Valley Care Center
In one documented incident at Antelope Valley Care Center in January 2025, staff reportedly failed to follow basic fall prevention measures for a resident with significant mobility limitations.
During a physical therapy session, the therapist left the resident unattended, removed the protective floor mat, and did not properly place the bed alarm. The resident fell from the bed and struck their head, resulting in a large scalp hematoma and a head laceration.
Our Approach To Pursuing Nursing Home Abuse and Neglect Cases
When you choose our firm to represent your family, we’ll immediately begin investigating the care failures that harmed your loved one. Our team may analyze medical records, internal staffing and care plan records from the nursing home, incident reports, security footage, and other evidence that could support your claim. By using this evidence and collaborating with third-party experts, we’ll determine what type of care the facility owed your loved one and prove how its actions failed to meet reasonable expectations.
As we build your case, our nursing home neglect lawyers will handle all communications with the facility and its insurer on your behalf. Once we’ve gathered enough evidence, we’ll be ready to present it in negotiations and pursue the compensation your family deserves. We won’t back down when the insurer tries to avoid responsibility, and we’re prepared to go all the way to trial if necessary.
"We know the ins and outs of nursing home litigation. We know how the long-term care industry operates. Because we know how they operate, we're in the best position to get the best results for the clients."
