Residents of acute care facilities and their families can sue the acute care facilities for the injuries they suffer there. There’s a lot of problems that can arise at these facilities because these facilities are responsible for providing inpatient care, 24-hour supervision, monitoring, and just whatever residents needs are. Oftent times, unfortunately, these acute care facilities fail to live up to these standards, neglecting and abusing the residents. One common issue we encounter is a lack of staffing. These facilities are often understaffed, which results in the employees of the facilities really trying their best, but just not having enough time during their shift to get around every resident and really provide them with the care that they need. And so it’s important that if you or a loved one has been a victim of abuse or neglect at an acute care facility, that you contact an attorney to figure out whether or not you have a case against that acute care facility.
