Will a nursing home retaliate against my loved one if I make a complaint? They shouldn’t, but that doesn’t mean they won’t. That’s the unfortunate reality. However, if that does happen, encourage you to reach out to us or an attorney or an unbudsman, someone to help you with that because that’s something that definitely shouldn’t happen. One of the things I always tell people who have loved ones in facilities is squeaky wheel gets the grease. And so be an advocate for your loved one. Make the requests you think need to be made. Put it in writing. Send emails. Do all those things. If you feel like the care that’s being provided is negatively affected because you’re advocating for them. That’s not right. That’s not something that should happen. So reach out to us if that happens and we can help you with that as well.
