At Lanzone Morgan, we have represented countless elders and their families in lawsuits against memory care facilities or care facilities that offer special services for individuals with dementia or Alzheimer’s. And a lot of common issues that we see come up in these types of facilities are staffing issues, where there aren’t enough staff to meet the needs of residents with dementia and Alzheimer’s who need specialized attention—they need more assistance with activities than other people might. And so, lack of staff can really lead to injuries and abuse and neglect occurring in these memory care units or memory care facilities, if you will. And another big issue that we often see in these types of facilities that are offering specialized services for dementia and Alzheimer’s is that the staff are not actually being provided with special training that they need to be able to deal with the complexities of these progressive diseases. And so, unfortunately, we do handle a lot of cases where injuries occur in these environments and elders are not receiving the care that they need. If you or a loved one have concerns over a care facility where your loved one is receiving memory care services for their dementia, Lanzone Morgan has experience with these matters, and we’re prepared to help you look into that and seek justice for your loved one.
